| ONI SIGNS 8 BILLS INTO LAW. |

Ekiti State Governor, Engr. Segun Oni has signed 8 bills recently passed by the House of Assembly into Law. Speaking at the ceremony in Ado, Governor Oni stressed that the bills would reinforce the policies of his administration towards the socio-economic transformation of the state. He stated that the passage of the 8 bills into law was a testimony that the state legislature was undoubtedly the most productive legislative house in Nigeria. He paid tribute to members of the EKHA particularly members of opposition Action Congress for considering the interest of the state ahead of other interests. Oni who also commended the state chapter of the Action Congress (AC) for allowing its legislators to have inputs in the passage of the bills, said if the AC had insisted that its members should not support what his administration is doing, the bills would not have been passed into law. He pledged that his administration would continue to take steps to better the lots of the people of the State. Also speaking, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tunji Odeyemi pledged that the House was committed to all round development of the state and attributed the successes recorded by the House to unity of purpose among members. The bills assented to by Governor Segun Oni include the Ekiti State Emergency Management Law (No 9). A law to Make Provisions for the Use of Certificate of Birth, Death and Burials in Ekiti State and other Matters Incidental Thereto (No 7) Promote and Protect the Rights of Person with disabilities in Ekiti State and Other Related Matters, (NO 6). A Law to Regulate the provision of Commercial Motorcycle Operators in Ekiti State and any other Matters Connected therewith (No 8). Other are A Law to Make Provision for the Control of Bush Burning and to make Further Provision for Other Matters Incidental Thereto Or Connected Therewith, (No 5), 2009 Revised Appropriation Law (No 4), A law to establish the University of Science and Technology, Ifaki-Ekiti and Other Matters and Incidental Thereto (No 10) a Law to Amend the Ekiti State House of Assembly Service Commission Law (No 4) of 2003 and other Matters Incidental Thereto or Connected Therewith.
