EKSG POISED TO RID PUBLIC SERVICE OF PARTISAN

The Head of Service, Mr. Olufemi Adewumi, has reaffirmed commitment of the administration to rid the State Public Service of partisan politics.

Mr. Adewumi made the affirmation in his office while receiving the report of the Committee of  officers on grade Level 15 and above on issue of participation of Public Servants in Partisan Politics.

He said the administration would continue to make the state Public Service more professional and a model that will be a pride of the nation.

The Chairman of Committee, Barrister Ibukun Oyebola stated that only 8 memoranda were received and none of the memoranda mentioned names, but confirmed public servants’ involvement in politics.

Barrister Oyebola also stated that some of the causes of the unprofessional attitude are contained in the report, while recommendations were made to curb the attitude among Public Servants.

He added that the Committee recommended penalties for anyone caught, while workshops and other educational programme should be extended to all categories of workers.

Members of the Committee are Barr. Ibukun Oyebola (Chairman), Mrs. Peju Babafemi, Mr. Tayo Aluko, Engr. Johnson Adeola and Mr. Olumide Fatoba.

Others are, Dr. F.R. Ibikunle, Mr. P.O. Ogunleye, Mr. Ademola Fasuan and Mr. Olaiya Ajayi (Secretary).
