GOV. FAYOSE CHARGED  HEALTH WORKERS TO ALIVE IN THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Ekiti  State Governor, Dr. Ayodele Fayose has charged Medical personnel in the State to be alive to their responsibilities of saving lives of the people. The Governor gave the charges on Thursday, 17th June, 2004 during a meeting held with Doctors, Nurses and other stakeholders in the Health sector of the state in the Governor’s office, Ado-Ekiti. The Chief Executive directed all the medical personnel in the State to be wearing nametags on their chest for identification and charged members of the public to report any misdemeanour on the part of the Health officials to the appropriate authority.                  

The Governor noted the poor state of the health sector when he assumed office as Governor recalled his efforts at reinvigorating it and charged the officials to complement it so that success will be achieved

 The Chief Executive hinted that N5million has been approved for the purchase of drugs and assured that a monitoring and distributing department would be created in the Health Ministry to oversee this.                                

Responding to this, the Commissioner of Health Dr.  Sola Babalola   commended Governor Fayose for his efforts at improving the medical facilities in public health institutions and stressed  the need for health worker to corporate with government so as to make the yearning of his administration  in the health sector a reality.

FAYOSE RESTATES RESOLVE TO IMPROVE PEOPLE’S LIVING STANDARD

The Ekiti State Gov. Dr. Ayodele Fayose has reiterated the determination of his administration to improve the living condition of the people.

The Governor who gave the indication at the Obasanjo Farms Nigeria Limited (OFNL), Igbo-Ora in Ibarapa Local Government Area of Oyo State during an inspection visit to the farm said that the State Government was poised to accord youth employment priority.

Dr. Fayose who informed that Ekiti State has embarked on a N1 billion integrated poultry project across the State explained that the purpose of his visit was to understudy the OFNL with a view to acquire experience that could enhance the success of the poultry project.

EKITI PUBLISHES 2003 AUDITED ACCOUNTS

The 2003 accounts of the Ekiti State Government has been published by the Fayose administration. In a statement by the State Auditor General, Mr Adedayo Ajayi, this is the first time the state's account will be audited up to date.  He noted that henceforth, the accounts will be published as at when due.

OGBEH COMMENDED EKITI STATE GOVERNOR

The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Audu Ogbeh has commended the Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Ayodele Fayose for his developmental achievement during his first year in office

Chief Ogbeh gave the commendation during the interactive session of the  PDP National leadership meeting with the South West leaders at the Ogun State Government House Abeokuta on Saturday 19th  June, 2004.

The National Chairman, who acknowledged the efforts of Gov. Fayose as reviving PDP in Ekiti State and the provision of social amenities caused those on opposition parties to support him in his quest to develop the State.

Chief Ogbeh described governor Fayose as a practical Governor saying the PDP and him Ogbeh as a person was proud of Fayose and gave assurance of their support to him.

Speaking with the pressmen after the meeting, Gov Fayose restated his determination to embark on programmes that would transform the lives of the people.

He expressed support for the Reform Programmes of the Obasanjo administration and urged Nigerians to support it in order to enhance its success.

UNAD ALUMNI ASSOCIATION LAUDS FAYOSE

The Alumni Association of the University of Ado – Ekiti (UNAD), has given the Fayose Administration a pass mark over the tremendous development witnessed by the University of Ado – Ekiti and Ekiti State in the first one-year of the administration.

The President of the UNAD Association Mr. Wale Jegede highlighted some of the achievements to include rehabilitation of roads, provision of water, electricity, prompt payment of salaries, increased subvention to UNAD, siting of N25 million poultry project and donation of 300 KVA power generating set amongst others.

Responding, Dr. Fayose who congratulated the president and other national executive reiterated his determination to develop the education sector adding that Education Summit in the state held last year has started yielding positive result.

Gov. Fayose said teaching and instruction materials including chalks, dusters and furniture are now available in schools while all schools in the state received running grants regularly.

He assured the Association that the present administration is poised to develop the state and solicited for their cooperation.

 

 

EKITI INDIGENES ABROAD PROMISED ASSISTANCE

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Ayodele Fayose has given assurance of the readiness of the indigenes of Ekiti State abroad to contribute their quote to the development of the State.

The Governor dropped the hint on Thursday at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, on his arrival from a two-week trip to the United State of America. Dr. Fayose disclosed that he attended the convention of the Ekiti indigenes in the United State, adding that they expressed their support for his government and promised to collaborate with it with a view to enhancing the development of the State.

The Chief Executive informed that an arrangement has been worked out with them to enable him meet some very important people in Texas come October this year in order to discuss how they can assist in the development of Ekiti State. Dr. Fayose assured the Ekiti citizens in Diaspora that his Government would continue to acknowledge and appreciate their kind gesture to the development of the State.

He reiterated his commitment to the well-being and development of the Ekiti people and urged them to support his administration in the realization of its noble goals. Governor Fayose who expressed joy about the discovery of Tantalite in large quantities in Ekiti State described it as a good development to Ekiti State in particular and Nigeria in general.

He promised that his Government would leave no stone unturned in fullest in order to enhance the development of the State.  Tantalite, a mineral resources used in the manufacturing of Aircraft and computer software was reportedly discovered in Ijero Ekiti, in Ijero Local Government of the State recently. The mineral resources was said to be very expensive and has a high demand in the International market.

Addressing a press conference recently, on the discovered of Tantalite in large and commercial quantities in the State, the Acting Governor, Mr Abiodun Aluko affirmed the readiness of the Federal Government to exploit the resources. Mr Aluko hinted the contract for the exploitation of the mineral resources has been awarded to a Canadian Company in collaboration with an indigenous firm, saying the contractor value was US $200 million

 

FAYOSE OFFERS UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP TO PRIMARY SCHOOL ORPHAN.

 Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Ayodele   Fayose has awarded a scholarship to an orphan, Master Sunday Ogunade, a Primary Six Pupil at Temidire Primary School, Ipoti, for his education up to University level.

The Governor gave the award at Ijero-Ekiti last Thursday at the commissioning of some projects executed by the administration of Hon. Joseph Ayeni, as part of activities marking his 100 days in offices as the chairman, Ijero Local Government.

Dr. Fayose also directed that the boy should move into the Government House, Ado-Ekiti, to join his family after the completion of his primary education, adding that the Local Government Chairman should also ensure that the boy was taken to the State capital to spend weekend with his family pending the completion of his primary education.

The Governor described Sunday Ogunade as a gifted and very creative boy whose talents should not be allowed to waste.

Sunday Ogunade, an 11 years old boy, whose father and mother has died, drew a beautiful portrait of Governor Ayo Fayose and left Ipoti for Ijero Ekiti to enable him present it to the Governor.

The beautiful drawing caught the attention of the Governor as his car drove past the small boy and instructed his driver to stop and he picked up the boy to the venue of the commissioning ceremony, where he announced a scholarship award for the  boy.

The larger gathering was full of prayers for the Governor in appreciation of his kindness to the poor little Orphan while emotion of sympathy overwhelmed majority of them and as they shed tears of joy for Sunday.

 

EKITI STATE HELD SEND-FORTH PARTY FOR IMMEDIATE PAST HEAD OF SERVICE AND RETIRED PERMANENT SECRETARIES.
HOS, Elder Bamikole giving opening speechThe Ekiti State Civil Service has held a sent-forth party in honour of Past Head of Service and One of the Celebranteleven Permanent Secretaries. In his opening remarks, the Head of Ekiti State Civil Service, Elder Bamikole thanked the executive Governor of Ekiti State for his usual for the civil service. According to him, the state civil service had never had it better. He prayed for the celebrant that God in His infinite mercies would continue to grant them good health. He also prayed that others that are still in service that they will also retire in peace after a meritorious service. The Executive Governor of Ekiti State, represented by the Special Adviser Special Duty, Chief Kayode Osadare congratulated the Celebrant and pledged that he would continue to support the civil service of Ekiti State for better service. Present at the occasion were the reprehensive of the Ondo State Head of Service, the Commissioner for Commerce Industries Cooperatives, Elder S.O. Kayode and the cream of Ekiti State Civil Service.
