Ekiti State Governor, Engr. Segun Oni has expressed joy over the release
of four officials of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) kidnapped
last week, urging the police and other security agencies in the country
to fight the menace of kidnapping and other crimes currently ravaging
the country with sincerity and patriotism.
Speaking through his
Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Wale Ojo-Lanre, Governor Oni said the case of
the journalists has once again presented Nigeria as a nation under
siege, adding that the police and all other security agents in the
country must save the country from the embarrassment.

Between 2008 and 2009, Ekiti
State Government disbursement a total sum of N253,014,000.00 as scholarship to
2,031 students from the State studying in tertiary institutions both in Nigeria
and foreign countries, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Mr. Wale
Ojo-Lanre has disclosed.
Ojo-Lanre, who made this known in
a statement made available to journalists in Ado-Ekiti noted that the Governor Segun Oni-led
administration would continue to reward
academic excellence by assisting
brilliant students in pursuance
of their studies through the
scholarship scheme.

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (UTH), Dr. Patrick Adegun has eulogized the State Governor; Engr. Segun Oni for the establishment of the Ophthalmological Centre in the UTH, describing the Eye Centre as the best in the country.

Ekiti State Governor,
Engr. Segun Oni has commiserated with legal icon, Aare Afe Babalola (SAN) over
the death of his mother, Madam Abigail Ajayi Babalola (nee Oshunkunle), saying;
the legal luminary and his entire family should be consoled by the fact that
the woman lived a fulfilled and exemplary life.
Madam Ajayi Babalola
died yesterday morning at the age of 114.

IF truly the voice of men is the voice of God, the Ekiti State
governor, Engr. Segun Oni may become the President of the country very
soon.
An Islamic cleric, who is the Chief Imam of Offa in Kwara
State, Alhaji Muhiydeen Salman, who delivered the sermon at the
turbanning ceremony of Ekiti State deputy governor, Dr. Sikiru Lawal,
as the first Baba Adini of Ekitiland described Governor Oni as a leader
capable of holding higher offices and eventually become the President
of Nigeria.
