SECOND PHASE OF EYE-GLASSES DONATION TO THE EYE DEFECT PEOPLE BY GOV. FAYOSE TOOK PLACE IN EKITI STATE.

Fayose addressing the people of Ekiti during the occasion.Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Ayodele Fayose manifested again  his concern for the health of people during the occasion of second phase of eye-glasses donation which took place on 24th November, 2004. The event took place at Fajuyi Square where 2,000 eye-glasses were donated to eye-defects people in Ekiti State on local government basis. This was a fulfillment of the Chief Executive promise during the first phase of the donation at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium on August, 2004. As a result of his commitment to the health of his people.  The Chief Executive further promised that the donation of eye-glasses will be continuous during his tenor and it will be six months interval.

Governor Fayose then solicited for the support of Ekiti people for his government in order to be able to fulfill all that God has sent him to do for the people of Ekiti.

3,000 eye glasses donated by Gov. FayoseDr. Fayose, the Executive Governor of Ekiti reiterated his commitment to the people of Ekiti State on Wednesday 18th, 2004 at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti during the launching of the “Oju Ayo” scheme where three thousand (3,000) pairs of free eye glasses were distributed to beneficiaries selected from the 16 Local Government areas of the state.

The Chief executive stressed the importance of good sight and explained that the free eye glasses were donated to enhance the good sight of people with eye problems who could not afford them on their own due to financial constraints.

Dr. Fayose who observed that the glasses were in short supply said additional 2,000 pairs have ordered for in order to cater for the needs of applicants who are yet to get from first phase adding that the distribution was going to be a continuous exercise.

The Governor reiterated his commitment to people’s welfare and urged them to continue supporting the Government adding that 7,000 kerosene stoves would be distributed in the next phase.

Earlier, the gesture which he described as one of the various programmes of the Fayose administration aimed at alleviation of poverty of the people.

The highpoint of the occasion was the presentation of the eye glasses by the Governor to selected beneficiaries of the glasses from all the 16 Local Government after a drama presentation by the Ayo Fayose cultural troupe.
