EKITI DAY: WHAT PAST GOVERNORS SAY
“There has been a major transformation in Ekiti State. The transformation is very profound. I have seen quite a member of on-going projects embarked upon by the present governor. One thing I am happy about is that there is evidence of genuine efforts on the path of the governor, not only to leave a legacy, but to provide for the welfare of the people and he has done quite a lot from structural development to road construction.
Before I came here, I had asked questions from my friends here and there was unanimity as to the changes that are going on which the young man had effected. I hope he does not change his course. He seems to have the passion, the commitment and the consciousness of the enormity of the challenges ahead of him. He is humble, care free, but not careless”.
Admiral Okhai Mike Akhigbe (rtd)

I think this is what governance is all about – continuity and progress. I believe that the present governor is on the right course. He has made tremendous improvements on what we started. And if he continues this way, Ekiti will be the state to beat in the nearest future.
Col. Mohammed Inua Bawa (rtd)

Governor Ayo Fayose reminds me of when I was posted to old Ondo state. I knew nobody anywhere. But I made a mark for myself. There was honesty of purpose, determination and doggedness. So I can say that Ekiti has a very good governor. I want to urge Ekiti people to cooperate with him so that he can move Ekiti state forward.
Group Captain Ita David Ikpeme(rtd)
.
I have seen a lot of infrastructure development here. In short, we are really astonished that within the shortest period he could achieve this noble feat. I think Ekiti people are very luck to have a leader like Governor Fayose’’.
Navy Captain Atanda Yusuf (rtd)
(Second MILAD, Ekiti State)

Governor Fayose is a man of his worlds. All he told us he would do last year he simply did. His efforts in road construction particularly the dualization of Ikere-Ado-Ekiti and Ado-Ekiti township roads are unprecedented.
Commodore Kayode Olofinmoyin (rtd)

I am very much impressed from what I have seen. He is a very energetic young man who has what it takes to govern a state like Ekiti. The way I see him, he is in the right direction. He deserves the support of all and sundry.
Major-General Ekundayo Opaleye rtd)

We thank God today that giant strides are being made according to the vision that we had. Ekiti, as it is now, is a state of the future and what I have seen has shown vividly that Governor Ayo Fayose is preparing the state as one that is going to emerge as a very vibrant and buoyant state. I appreciate all the efforts that are going on in Ekiti State now. I give glory to God and congratulate the governor.
Rear Admiral Abiodun Olukoya (rtd)

Governor Fayose’s achievements are too numerous to ignore. The governor is a round peg in a round hole. He is doing his best to provide the basic necessities of life like good roads, water, etc. He needs the support of all Ekitis.
Col. Lucky Mike Torrey (rtd)
