Taiwo Olatunbosun has called on all and sundry to imbibe the sprit of selfless services and patriotism in order to make the society a place for all. Hon.Olatunbosun made the call at Eyio-Ekiti on Saturday during a scholarship award ceremony spearheaded by a school Teacher, Mr. Kola Ajibade. The Acting Governor said he was moved and impressed by the genuine intention and patriotic gesture of Mr Ajibade, the initiator of the award for instituting the annual education scholarship award for indigent students in the last five years. Hon. Olatunbosun explained that he was particularly touched by the fact that Mr Ajibade, who was a poor man without a building and car of his own could be spending his meager resources on such a philanthropic project that was expected to be undertaken by the wealthy people in the society. Hon. Olatunbosun called on individual and corporate organization to emulate Mr. Kola Alidade by lending a helping hand to the less privileged. The Acting Chief Executive advised the initiator of the award to extend it beyond Eyio-Ekiti for other people to benefit. He congratulated Mr Kola Ajibade on the project and stated that the project was in consonance with the policy of the Fayose administration aimed at promoting educational development. The Acting Chief Executive gave assurance of Government’s support to the project and the Eyio community adding that the on-going Ifaki-Eyio-Esure-Awo road would be completed before November this year. Earlier, the chairman of the occasion and Chairman, Irepodun / Ifelodun Local Government Council,Hon, Hon Toba Adaramola commended the laudable project of the award embarked upon by Mr Kola Ajibade. Hon. Adaramola said he appreciated Mr Ajibade’s project immensely in view of his humble social statures as a teacher and genuine love to support the children of the less priviledged. In appreciation of Mr Ajibade’s contribution , Hon. Adaramola announced his appointment as the special Adviser to the council Chairman on Education Development adding that his letter of appointment would be handed over to him next Monday. In his remarks, the General Manager, Ekiti State Emergency Management Agency, Mr Kunle Olofintuyi thanked Governor Ayodele Fayose for his love for Eyio-Ekiti and for the fulfillment of his promises on infrastructural development including the rehabilitation of the Ifaki-Esure-Eyio-Awo road to the community. Mr olofintuyi also appreciated the Acting Governor, Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun for awarding educational scholarship to some students in Irepodun\Ifelodun local Government area including Eyio-Ekiti recently and commended Mr Kola Ajibade for his philanthropic efforts adding that his appointment as Special Adviser on Education Development was a sweet reward and appreciation of his efforts. In his speech , the initiator of the annual Education Scholarship award , Mr Kola Ajibade disclosed that he was a beneficiary of a similar programme in Eyio community in the early 1970s to sponsor the education of some undergraduate then and wished to contribute back to the community, part of what he gained from it. Mr Ajibade said 120 students cutting across primary, Secondary and higher institutions would benefit from the 2005 edition of the award and disclosed that some prominent indigenes of the community have pledge to raise a million naira next year in furtherance of the award project. Some of the beneficiaries including students of higher institutions who received N2,000 each thanked the donor and promised a judicious use of the money. Some primary school pupil benefited from the donation of big exercise books and other leaning materials which were part of the scholarship Programme. The Chief of staff to the Governor, Pastor Kola Oluwawole was among Government functionaries that graced the occasion. |
ERIO ROADS TO BE REHABILITATED SOON - 19/09/05 The rehabilitation of the Erio – Ekiti township roads would commence soon. The Acting Governor of Ekiti State, Hon.Taiwo Olatunbosun gave the assurance on Saturday at the 10th coronation anniversary of the Elerio of Erio – Ekiti, Oba Adesoba Adetoyinbo and the N50 million community Development fund raising ceremony for the town. Hon. Olatunbosun who congratulated the Elerio and the entire community announced a donation of N1 million to the community on behalf of Government assured that concerted effort would be made towards ensuring an efficient and regular supply of infrastructures including water and electricity to the town. The chief Executive thanks Elerio for ensuring that peace reigned in his community and for the support given to the State Government. He thanked Elerio Ekiti community for giving a beautiful and responsible wife Mrs. Feyisetan Fayose to Governor Ayodele Fayose. Earlier, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade who described the wife of the Governor, Mrs.Feyisetan Fayose as “Eye Erio” meaning, the mother of Erio, appreciated the developmental works of Governor Fayose in the State and prayed for the peace and progress of Erio – Ekiti in particular and Ekiti State as a whole. Oba Sijuwade promised that he in conjunction with Dr.Ayodele Fayose and his wife who is an illustrious daughter of Erio would personally supervise the construction of the Elerio Palace project to ensure its successful completion without delay. The royal Father congratulated the Elerio and the entire community on the occasion and charged all and sundry to contribute meaningfully to the progress and Development of the town. Speaking with newsmen, the wife of the State Governor, Mrs. feyisetan fayose, who was graciously seated at high table thanked God for sparing her life to witness the occasion. Mrs. Fayose assured that she and her husband would continue to contribute their quota to the development of the town and congratulated the Elerio, Oba Adetoyinbo on the occasion and wished him a long and peaceful reign on the throne of his fore-fathers. Government functionaries at the occasion included members of the State Executive council; Fedral and State legislators including Senator Clement Awoyelu; Chairman, local Government Service Commission, Chief Dayo Okondo; SUBEB chairman, Prince Akin Olayisade and Traditional Rulers from within and outside Ekiti State. The occasion witnessed the conferment of chieftaincy tittles on prominent Nigerians including senator Clement Awoyelu; the Chairman, Ekiti West Local Government, hon.Bayo Adeosun and Chairman of YEMKEM International, chief(Dr) Akintunde Ayeni among several others. EKITI ACTING GOVERNOR CONDEMNS ATTACK ON FAYOSE ADMINISTRATION - 19/09/05 The Acting Governor of Ekiti State, Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun has said that the Government of Ayodele Fayose is divinely installed adding that the evil machinations of the enemies to destabilize it would continue to fail. Hon. Olatunbosun made this statement on Monday at Igede-Ekiti during the launching ceremony of the Local Government News Bulletin, Logo and official presentation of the letter of appointment to Mr Kola Ajibade as the Special Adviser on Education Development. The Acting Chief Executive seized the occasion to inform the people about the failed attempt of some politicians who hired armed men from a neighbouring State to cause chaos in the State adding that vigilant security agencies in the State have arrested them. He congratulated the Chairman, Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government, Hon Toba Adaramola on the occasion of the launching and commended his initiative and ingenuity in launching a news bulletin, logo and flag for the Local Government and charges them to ensure that the information contained in the bulletin got to the internet in order to project them to the entire world. In his address, Hon Adaramola said that they were using the occasion of the launching to celebrate the people of the Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government area as a unique and distinctive people. He affirm their unalloyed support for Fayose administration and warned those threatening the Government of Ayodele Fayose to ensure that no harm touched the Governor adding that the entire Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government would collectively rise as a people against any attack on him. ACTING GOV. HAILS FAYOSE ON CONSTITUENCY PROJECT- 19/09/05 The Acting Governor of Ekiti State, Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun has commended Governor Ayodele Fayose for approving constituency projects for members of the State House of Assembly. Hon. Olatunbosun gave the commendation at Igbemo-Ekiti, his hometown, on Sunday while inspecting the construction of a Comprehensive Health Centre, a constituency project embarked upon by him in the town. The Acting Chief Executive disclosed that the Comprehensive Health Centre Project had been earmarked for Igbemo-Ekiti over 15 years ago without any financial backing to make the project a reality. He said Governor Fayose has fulfilled the aspirations of the Igbemo community in particular and by extension, the entire Ekiti people who are going to benefit from the constituency projects. Hon. Olatunbosun hinted that N2 million has been released out of the N5 million meant for each of the constituency projects and expressed optimism that the balance of N 3million would be released before the end of this month. The Acting Governor described the insinuation of the Deputy Governor, Surveyor Abiodun Aluko that the N2million constituency fund given to each of the members of the House of Assembly was a bribe as a false. He explained that the Comprehensive Health Centre Project was a testimony that the constituency grant was judiciously and efficiently utilized adding that the project would be commissioned in November this year. In a related development, the Acting Governor, Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun has appreciated the immense contributions of Governor Ayodele Fayose to the Igbemo Community saying they never had it so good. Hon. Olatunbosun gave the indication on Saturday at a civic reception organized in honor of the National President of the Igbemo Development Association (I.D.A.), Mr. Olowosejeje who has just retired as a Director in the Federal Public Complaint Commission. The Acting Governor stated that Igbemo community and its environment have witnessed tremendous unprecedented infrastructural development during the tenure of Governor Fayose and under the Presidency of Mr. Samuel Olowosejeje in the I.D.A. He enumerated the projects to include the Iworoko-Are-Afao-Igbemo road; the Igbemo-Ijan road; the Afao-Ilupeju road; the Igbemo-Ire-ilupeju road among several others in the area and declared that it has never been so good for them.The Acting Governor added that indigenes of Igbemo-Ekiti have gotten their fair share in terms of political appointment and civil service appointment from the Fayose administration. Hon. Olatunbosun said the best of the Fayose administration was yet to be seen solicited continued support for his Government. He congratulated Mr. Samuel Olowosejeje on his peaceful retirement after a successful and meritorious service to his fatherland. The Acting Governor extolled the virtues of Mr. Olowosejeje and described him as a patriotic, selfless and dedicated leader committed to the development of his people and community. EKITI PRAYS - (17/08/05) A three-day fasting and prayer was declared for all Ekiti sons and daughters between Wednesday, 17th to Friday 20th August, 2005. The prayer session starting at 5pm each day was attended by His Excellency Dr Ayodele Fayose and his wife Mrs Feyisetan Fayose throughout the three days. It was an occasion for all Government functionaries including Civil Servants to make supplications to Almighty God concerning the State. The officiating ministers led prayers for the Government and people of Ekiti and prayed to God that peace and prosperity will reign in Ekiti State. NO UNREST IN IKERE – IKERE PEOPLE - 08/09/05 The people of Ikere yesterday dispelled the rumour going round that there was unrest at Ikere during which several people were wounded. In a meeting held by the Acting Governor of Ekiti State, Hon. Olatunbosun with the people of Ikere, the people were unanimous in their resolve that the report of unrest was not true. A mammoth crowd comprising farmers and trader in Ikere town witnessed the meeting attended by party leaders, local government executive, and the ogoga of Ikere. The acting governor who is also the deputy speaker of the State House of Assembly assured the people of the town that the post of Deputy Governor has never being seeded to another town as being speculated by the detractors. He added that the Fayose administration has never failed to recognise the importance of Ikere to his government. He however sounded a note of warning that those who have decided to murder peace will definitely know no peace. The Government, according to him, will not hesitate to bring trouble makers to book. EKITI TEACHERS TO SMILE – FAYOSE ROLLS OUT GOODIES The Government of Ekiti State will continue to give priority attention to the welfare of teachers. This was the promise of the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Peter Ayodele Fayose during a meeting with teachers of Secondary and Primary schools in Ekiti State. In the meeting attended by thousands of teachers held on Tuesday, 13th September, 2005, the Governor reiterated his commitment to encouraging teachers for optimum output. Earlier in her address, the Commissioner for Education, Dr (Mrs) Esther Fabusuyi paid glowing tributes to the unrelenting efforts of the Fayose Administration at lifting the education industry t o greater heights. She highlighted some of the achievements of the administration as including phenomenal improvements in JSS and SSS results, renovation of classrooms, promotion of teachers and prompt payment of salaries. Governor Fayose promised to assist in the celebration of this year’s World Teacher’s day by providing cows and food to be distributed to each Local Government. He noted that his Jigawa State counterpart has donated 16 cows for the celebration. He also promised that the best Primary school teacher and the best Secondary school teacher will each receive a new car that day. In addition, Governor Fayose promised to promote three teachers, one from each of the three senatorial districts of the State to the post of Tutor General on level 17. He also promised to provide cars to all their unions. He promised the best teacher awards will be a yearly ceremony. Finally, the Governor promised a special Christmas bonus for all teachers in December. In his reaction, Elder statesman and one-time Federal Minister, Chief Ayo Ogunlade commended the vision and zeal of Ayo Fayose in touching all aspects of the State positively. He prayed for good health and vitality from God to see him through his tenure in office. The Chairman of the State NUT, Comrade Arogundade thanked the government of Dr Ayo Fayose and pledged the support of all teachers for his developmental programmes. According to him, teachers in Ekiti State have never had it so good. He said that what is happening in Ekiti State is a positive revolution. The Teacher’s day will come up on 5th October, 2005. Moving the vote of thanks, the state President, All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Pastor Dipo Adelugba thanked Dr. Fayose for all he has done for Teachers in the past and for the promises made to them which he said he believed the the Governor would fulfill.
