RELIEVE PACKAGES FOR STORM VICTIMS
The Executive Governor of Ekiti State Government has donated over N9m worth of relief materials to assist rain storm victims across the State.
About N4.6m of this were given in materials while N4.5m was given to 387 victims across 8 Local Government as assistance in cash.
The Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Ayodele Fayose at the presentation of the materials, sympathized with the victims, noting that rainstorm had destroyed properties worth millions of naira across the State this year.
The Governor who was represented at the occasion by his Deputy, Surveyor Abiodun Aluko, said that the materials would be distributed among the 50 public institutions and 387 individuals who were affected by the rainstorm in 8 Local Government Areas of the State.
Governor Fayose said that the materials was given to ameliorate the suffering of the affected victims, adding that though the relief materials a token of government sympathy would assist affected victims to kick start the rehabilitation of the public institution and the individual victims affected by the rainstorm disaster this year.
The Executive Governor explained that though natural disasters like rainstorm could not be completely erased from our society but it’s effect could be reduced through tree planting and regular maintenance of old buildings.
The General Manager of the Ekiti State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mr Kunle Olofintuyi urged the beneficiaries to use the materials for the purpose for which it was meant for especially the principals and headmasters of public institutions.
Responding on behalf of benefiting secondary schools, the principal of Igede Baptist High School Igede Ekiti, Elder Femi Bamisile commended Governor Ayo Fayose for the gesture and said that the materials would put affected schools in the State back to shape.
Also, the headmistress of St James Anglican Primary School Ayegbaju Ekiti, Mrs Deborah Ajibola who spoke on behalf of primary school recipient, described the materials as a true representative of Ekiti State Government initiative at solving the multifaceted problems of the people.
She said that no government in Ekiti State since creation attached importance to the repair of dilapidated buildings in primary schools across the State like Governor Fayose.
The Spokeman for Local Government Emergency Management Agency (LEMA) in the affected 8 local government areas Mr Ayodele Oguntoye thanked the government for assisting the 387 victims of rainstorm disasters across the State.
Mr Oguntoye said that Ekiti State is the first and only State in Nigeria that established LEMA for the care of natural disasters victims at the grassroot.
Materials distributed for schools at the occasion include: 200 bags of Cement, 200 bundle of iron Sheet, 80 packets of Zink Nails, 50 bags of Roofing Nails and 1,600 pieces of Planks.
Also 100 bags of Cement, 220 bundles of Iron Sheet, 65 bags of Roofing Nail, 800 pieces of Planks with 400 pieces of blanket were distributed to the other 387 rainstorm victims in the 8 Local Government Areas.
 
 
 
Global Fleet Oil to build N1.5 billion Depot in Ekiti State
A petroleum depot with 20,000 metric tones capacity costing N1.5billion is to be established in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital. The Chief Executive officer of Global Fleet Oil and Gas Company, Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim, who disclosed this in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, said the depot would be completed in eight months. Indeed, Ibrahim who flew to the state in a chartered helicopter was conducted round possible sites by his host, Governor Ayo Fayose. In a chat with newsmen at the end of the tour, the oil magnate said he was settling for Ado-Ikere road which he described as the most appropriate for the venture.
Ibrahim said he was motivated into sitting the depot in Ado-Ekiti to allow for fast-track economic development in the state. "I want to assure you that by the grace of God, in the next eight months, I will have a depot in Ekiti as big as Ore Depot", Ibrahim told members of the state executive council, adding that no fewer than six mega-stations would also be sited at different locations in the state with each costing about N200million. He said that seven days after the issuance of Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) by the state government, earth-moving equipment would be deployed to site and work commence immediately. Ibrahim explained further that the depot would be a truck-loading one and would serve Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Kwara States.
"In every region, we must be settled. I Global Fleet Oil to build N1.5 billion Depot in Ekiti State n the South-West, there must be a state where we have a depot and in Ekiti, we have only one station. So, I think we should put the depot in Ekiti", he explained, stressing further that it would reduce considerably the cost of petroleum products in the state. The highly elated Governor Fayose said he felt "embarrassed positively" with the move, saying the project would further boost the economy of the state. He promised that the C of O would be issued immediately to the oil firm so that work can commence on the project. The governor who was full of commendation for Barrister Ibrahim, described him as "the leading light" to the younger generation.
FAYOSE URGES LOYALTY AS HE SWORN 3 NEW PERMANENT SECRETARIES
Ekiti State Government, Dr. Ayodele Fayose has charged civil servants in the State to be dedicated and loyal to the Government of the day.  Dr. Fayose gave the charges at the swearing-in ceremony of the three (3) newly appointed Permanent Secretaries at the Governor’s office in Ado-Ekiti.
The Governor who said that his Government would continue to appreciate hard work and reward loyalty explained that the new Permanent secretaries were appointed on the bases of hard work and loyalty to Government.
       The Chief Executive stated that it became imperative for workers to be dedicated and loyal to Government that paid their salaries and attended to their welfare at all times.Gov. Aluko(2nd left) and the 3 new Permanent Secretaries  The Chief Executive warned against lateness and all sets of indiscipline at work adding that anybody caught, no matter how highly placed, would be made a scapegoat in order to serve as deterrent to others.
He advised civil servants to steer clear of partisan polities adding that whoever found politicking would be shown the way out of the service.
     Dr. Fayoser acknowledged and commended the loyalty of the Head of Service, Elder Segun Bankole and praised him for always championing the interest of the workers.  The Governor appreciated the important rules played by the Permanent Secretaries and other top Government functionaries saying his administration would continue to enhance their welfare in particular and those of the entire workforce.  The Chief Executive congratulated the newly sworn-in-Permanent Secretaries and members of their families on their appointment and charged them to live up to expectation. 
Responding on behalf of his colleagues, one of the three newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries, Mr. Ajayi Ogundele thanked Governor Ayodele Fayose for appointing them and assured that they would not betray the confidence reposed in them.
Gov. Fayose donating cars to the new Permanent Secretaries       The highpoint of the occasion was the official presentation of a brand new official Honda car to each of the three Permanent Secretaries and the Chairman, Civil service Commission (CSC), Chief Bade Gboyega and another Commissioner in the CSC, Mrs. Daramola by Governor Fayose.
         Speaking with newsmen in their new car after the official presentation, one of the Permanent Secretary and his wife, Mr. And Mrs. Daniel Aina thanked Governor Ayodele Fayose for the gesture and described the appointment as the Lord’s doing.
        The Deputy Governor, Surveyor Abiodun Aluko, the SSG, Evang. Ade Alofe, members of the State Executive Council, the Head of service, Elder Segun Bankole, top Government functionaries, traditional and Religious leaders were among the dignitaries that graced the occasion.
FAYOSE DONATES BUILDING TO OLIVET HEIGHTS , OYO STATE
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has once again demonstrated his love for the development of education and humanity by donating a block of classroom to his Alma-Mater, Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo. Dr. Fayose who commissioned the building project on Saturday at the school premises during the 60th anniversary celebration of the school said he has directed that another block of classroom be constructed for the school. He also donated N2million fund raising project for the infrastructural development of the school.
Speaking with newsmen at the occasion, the Governor explained that the gestures were to appreciate God’s favour in his life and to contribute his own quota to the development of his former secondary school. Dr. Fayose had earlier express his unhappiness about the decadent infrastructures in the school, which, he said, he saw about three years ago when he was in the school to collect his certificate, stressed the need for all and sundry to assist the school develop.
The Ekiti State Governor said he had discussion with Governor Rasheed Ladoja of Oyo State, who was also in Alumnus of the school on how to assist the school regain the old glory.
Dr. Fayose stated his commitment to the development of education and informed that his administration’s effort in Ekiti State, has within a year, repositioned the State from 35th to 14th position in the WAEC rating.
His Oyo State counterpart, Senator Rasheed Ladoja, who was a co-guest of honour with Fayose at the occasion assured of his administration’s support in ensuring that the school regained its old glory. Governor Ladoja said that his administration would re-introduce Boarding system into the secondary school education systen in the state as a way of enhancing academic excellence with effect from next academic session. He commended the gesture of Governor Fayose and donated N10 million to the endowment fund on-behalf of the Oyo State Government.
Earlier, the National president, Olivet Baptist High School Oyo Old student Association Dr. Ayo Ojo, who noted that the 60th anniversary celebration was the most colorful ever, thanked Governor Ayodele Fayose for donating a well equipped and furnished block of classrooms to the school. Dr. Ojo who disclosed that the building project was completed within three weeks described it as one of the miracles of Governor Fayose and charged others to emulate Fayose’s philanthropic gesture.
