Traditional rulers in Ekiti State have expressed their support for the State Government’s decision to retain The University of Education, Ikere Ekiti (TUNEDIK) in Ikere-Ekiti, adding that; “if the Government desires to establish a new College of Education, it should be established in another Community to ensure even distribution of amenities across the State.

As parts of ways to launch African culture to the global scene, some Hollywood stars would soon converge on Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital to shoot films expected to promote African culture around the world, Special Adviser to the State Governor on Tourism and Hospitality Development, Mr. Moses Jolayemi has said. The film project is expected to cost N6 billion.

Ekiti State Governor, Engr Segun Oni has called on the Federal Government to ensure the early completion of the new Ado-Ekiti Prisons under construction in the outskirts of the State capital, adding that non-completion of the prison was hampering his government’s development plans for the newly created Central Business District (CBD).

Segun Oni and his Deputy, Dr. Sikiru Tae Lawal have commiserated with the Editor of Nigerian Compass newspaper, Mr. Gabriel Akinadewo over the death of his mother, Superintendent General Apostolic Mother Mary Omokehinde Akinadewo, saying; “though the death of a beloved mother can be devastating but Gabriel and the entire family should be condoled by the fact that death being the ultimate end of all mortals must come when it must come.

Ekiti State Government has renamed the Community High School, Iro-Ekiti, Gbonyin Local Government Area of the State after the late Chairman of the Hospital Management Board (HMB), Dr. Sola Babalola.
