Controversies surrounding the establishment of The University of Education, Ikere Ekiti (TUNEDIK) has finally been resolved as the Ekiti State Government has said that the university will remain in Ikere while a new State College of Education will be sited in a new location.

A total of 2,499 patients with eye defects ranging from cataract, glaucoma and reflective error have been treated free at the newly established Ekiti State Ophthalmological Centre, with over 1,000 still awaiting treatment, the State Governor, Engr. Segun Oni has disclosed.

Ekiti State Governor, Engr. Segun Oni has lamented the death of the Attah of Aiyede Ekiti, Oba Adeleye Orisagbemi, Acting provost of the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, Dr. Gabriel Olowoyo and their drivers, describing the death as shocking and devastating.
