Ekiti State Governor, Engr.Segun Oni has expressed hope that the proposed School of Midwifery at Orun Ekiti, Ise/Orun Local government Area of the State would produced high level personnel that would hasten the dream of his administration for the health sector.

the Governor, Mr. Wale Ojo-Lanre said in a statement issued today, that
Governor Oni said while playing host to the people of Orun Ekiti led
by the Olowuro of Orun Ekiti, Oba Zacheus Adewumi in Ado Ekiti that
his administration was set to make the tertiary institution a model in
the field of midwifery in term of personnel development and as well as
a tool for checkmating the spread of quacks .Governor Oni, who affirmed that his administration was putting in place an institutional mechanism that would ensure everyone in the State has access to health-care delivery noted that the hospital would play a complimentary role to the neighbouring Ise Ekiti General Hospital, which was about being upgraded by the State government. While noting that government actions were aimed at providing social services as well as generating employment for the available youths in the State, he tasked the youths to shun indolence and make use of opportunities made available by government to benefit themselves and the society at large. In his speech, Oba Zaccheus Adewumi thanked the governor for siting the school in his community. The monarch, who said the gesture has given the community a sense of belonging opined that the institution would enhance commercial activities, increase the population and as well generate employment for the people of the area. |
