Ekiti State Governor, Engr. Segun Oni has said that his administration would continue to pressurize the relevant Federal Government Agencies to ensure the early completion of the 132/33KVA power sub-station in Ado-Ekiti towards boosting power supply in the state.
Governor Oni who gave the assurance while speaking with newsmen in Ado expressed joy that work had eventually resumed on the 27-year old project. He expressed appreciation to the Minister of power and Steel, Mr. Femi Babalola for ensuring that the contractors handling the project returned to site as earlier promised. Oni said the early completion of the project was a top priority of the administration as lack of adequate power supply is hampering economic and social activities in the state. He expressed hope that the 132/33KVA sub-station project will eventually be completed before the end of the year as work has commenced on the construction of the pylon setback preparatory to the laying of cables from Akure to the site of the sub-station in Ado. Speaking on the outlook of his proposed cabinet, Oni assured that the new cabinet would be a reflection of the lessons learnt during his previous 21 months in office. He stated that he intends to run an efficient bureaucracy that would be cost effective and proactive in order to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the state. The Governor, however, assured that all parts of the states would be adequately represented in the new cabinet. |
