Ekiti State Governor, Engr. Segun Oni and his Deputy, Dr. Sikiru Tae Lawal have commiserated with the Editor of Nigerian Compass newspaper, Mr. Gabriel Akinadewo over the death of his mother, Superintendent General Apostolic Mother Mary Omokehinde Akinadewo, saying; “though the death of a beloved mother can be devastating but Gabriel and the entire family should be condoled by the fact that death being the ultimate end of all mortals must come when it must come.
Governor Oni, reacting to
Mrs. Akinadewo’s death through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Wale
Ojo-Lanre implored Gabriel and his family to take solace in the fact
that the late lived a model and fulfilled Christian life.“I received with shock the news of the death of Mrs. Mary Akinadewo and all I can say is that the family should take solace in the fact that Mama lived an exemplary and fulfilled Christian life worthy of emulation by all. “Judging from the character of Gabriel, one of the children, I have no doubt in my mind that the late Mrs. Mary Akinadewo was a woman with virtues plated in superlatives, who taught her children the ideals of hard-work, honesty and selflessness. “As a student, she was one of the best among her peers and as head of many women organisations in the Mutailatu Church of Christ Worldwide, she gave her best in the service of God. She will surely be missed by all.” While urging the Akinadewos to take solace in God, the only giver and taker is of live, Governor Oni said; “I share this moment of grief with Gabriel, one of the finest among the present generation of Nigerian journalists. “In a moment like this, it is only God that can console the Akinadewos and my prayer is that God in His infinite mercies will console Gabriel and his siblings. “On behalf of my family, Government and people of Ekiti State, I express our heartfelt condolence for the loss of such a distinguished woman and wish the entire family the continued support and guidance of the Almighty God,” Oni said. Also, Dr. Lawal in a statement signed by his Senior Executive Assistant on Media, Mr. Joseph Ogunsemi urged the Nigerian Compass Editor to take the death as one of the inevitabilities of life, saying; “God, who Himself is the only comforter will console Gabriel on this irreparable loss. “My prayer is that God in His infinite mercies will grant the children the grace to continue to uphold the virtues of Godliness and selfless service to God and mankind, which the late Mrs. Mary Akinadewo symbolised.” |
