The Ekiti State Government is making concerted efforts to lease out the little Ose Dam in Gbonyin Local Government Area to a privte company that would run and maintain at the Dam.

Governor Oni who made this known during a meeting with stake holders in the water sector said, the company would be responsible for production of water at the dam, while the Water Corporation would be saddled with the task of quality control, collection of revenue and proper distribution of water to the people of the State.

He said the move was to reduce cost and improve efficiency to provide potable water to 6 Local Government Areas in the State and 5 Local Government Areas in Ondo State.

The Governor who expressed displeasure with the slow pace of work by some of the contractors handling water projects under the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) berated the State Water Corporation for not testing many of the newly constructed pipelines water reservoirs and booster stations that had been completed by the contractors.

He assured that government would not delay payment on any of the completed project carried out to specification.
