The Ekiti State Government has been called upon to put logistics in place for the timely implementation of the 2010 budget, especially in the Agricultural Sector to prevent food scarcity in the State.

The call was made by the National Vice-President of the Agriculture and Allied Employees Union of Nigeria (AAEUN), South-West Zone, Comrade Folu Oni, at a review of the activities of the Union in Ado.

Comrade Oni who commended Governor Segun Oni on the budget which was christened the ‘Budget of Assurance; added that the Micro Credit Scheme should be strengthened to help the budget implementation and the economy of the State.

On the deregulation of the down stream oil sector, he advised the Federal Government to resuscitated the nation’s refineries and stop the importation of petroleum products.

Comrade Oni urged the Federal Government to implement the N53,000.00 minimum wage before the deregulation exercise so as to cushion its effects.
