EKSG SIGNS MOA ON SMALL AND MEDIUM SCALE ENTERPRISES. PDF Print E-mail

Ekiti State Government has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Bank of Commerce and Industry on Small and Medium Scale Enterprises.

Leading the State Government team, the Deputy-Governor, Dr. Sikiru Tae Lawal said they came to government to change the landscape development of the State, adding that government is earnestly yearning for total transformation of the State.

Dr. Lawal said the State Government realized the importance of Small and Medium Scale enterprises hence, the introduction of School enterprise projects in the boarding Secondary School in the state.

He explained that the State Government has committed a huge sun of money on the 132/133 KVA which would be completed soon while the waste to energy project will take of in the year, stressing that all these are necessary ingredients for industrial take off of any State.

The agreement which would be on fifty-fifty basis witnessed the presentation of the first tranche of the State counterpart fund of One Hundred Million Naira cheque to the Bank of Industry while the remaining Four Hundred Million Naira will be paid by installments.

The areas of their agreement were the development of Ire Clay products and development of School Enterprise projects.

Earlier, the Executive Director, Corporate Affairs of the Bank, Mr. Chris Umeh lauded the efforts of the State Governor Engr. Segun Oni for changing the economic landscape of the State from Civil Service State to Industrial State.

According to him this would go a long way in solving unemployment problem in the State.

The Deputy Governor signed for the State Government, while Mr. Chris Umeh, Executive Director, Corporate Affairs signed on behalf of the Bank of Industry Managing Director, Mrs. Evelyn Oputu.
