| 10 NEW ROADS READY FOR COMMISSIONING IN EKITI - ONI |

10 road projects initiated under the Road Revolution Programme of the Oni-Administration in Ekiti State have been completed and are now ready for commissioning, the State governor, Engr. Segun Oni has said. Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Mr. Wale Ojo-Lanre, said in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti yesterday that Governor Oni, who made this known during a meeting with some stakeholders in Ado-Ekiti said contractors handling other road contracts in the State have been given deadlines ranging from end of February to end of June to complete their projects. The ten road projects ready for commissioning include the 16km- Isinbode-Iro-Federal-Iro-Aiyeteju-Irun road, the 10km-Iludun- Eda Oniyo- Obo Ayegunle, the 5km Ifaki Township road, the 10km-Igede-Ilawe road and the 8km Isan-Ilemso road. The other completed roads are the 5km- Aramoko township road, the 4km- University of Ado Ekiti (UNAD) Internal Road, the Secretariat Road, the Legislative Quarters Road, and Bishop’s Court Road in Ado-Ekiti. The governor, who gave contractors handling six other road projects that have surpassed the 80 percent completion mark up to the end of February to complete the roads, said that his administration was poised to complete all on-going projects in the State this year and would not tolerate any form of impediment to government dream. The roads include the 30-km Ikole-Itapaji- Iyemero road, the 7km- Itapa-Omu-Ijelu road, the 26-km-Ijero-Ikoro-Okemesi road, the 22km-Ayede-Gede-Omu Odo road, the 15km-Erijinyan-Ilawe road and the 4-km NTA-Ilawe bye pass road in Ado Ekiti. The Governor also told contractors handling the House of Assembly complex, the new Deputy Governor’s Office, the Secretariat Complex to ensure that the building projects get timely completion as government was ready to put the State on the forefront of development in Nigeria. He said that having been able to identify competent contractors among those handling Government projects, his administration would from now employ selective tendering in the award of government road and building contracts. |
